Staff and Training

Before being considered for a position working for Guardian Angel Daycare and the Diocese of Salt Lake, all candidates are required to pass a background check, complete Safe Environment Training, have appropriate immunizations, a yearly Flu Shot, be CPR and First Aid certified, as well as having completed the State Food Handling course. All staff possess differing levels of training, education, and administrative skills. Each year employees are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education in early child development.

  • Part-Time Cleaning: The Skaggs Catholic Center is looking to fill two part time cleaning positions. The jobs are Monday-Friday from 6:00-9:45. The pay range is from $8.00 to $9.00. These positions will start as soon as possible.

  • Orchestra Teacher
    SJBE is looking for a teacher to take over the after-school orchestra program for the rest of the current school year (2016-2017).

    Start date would be Monday, Jan. 5, 2017 and would end on Friday, May 19, 2017. Applicants must have experience on the violin, viola, and cello. Previous teaching experience with students from 1st-5th Grade, or an Education License is preferred.

    Must be able to form lesson plans that involve students at multiple levels while maintaining a safe and effective learning environment. Applicants will be expected to meet and collaborate with other music teachers from the Diocese.Applicants must possess an understanding of Catholic values and be committed to the school's mission of educating the whole child through its school wide learning expectations (Christians, learners, communicators and citizens).Classes are Mondays and Fridays from 3-4 pm, and Wednesdays from 1-2 pm.Teacher will receive a stipend for the semester.

  • Director of Liturgy and Music - Skaggs Catholic Center is accepting applications for a full time salaried Director of Liturgy and Music. Skaggs Catholic Center is a campus of three schools and parish. The position is half time at the Parish functioning as the Director of Parish Music. The second half of the position is functioning as the Director of Choirs for Juan Diego Catholic School and Saint John the Baptist Middle School. Candidates must be a practicing Roman Catholic and have a degree in music, sacred music or liturgical studies. Eligible candidates also need strong musical skills in conducting, Playing the organ or piano, and experience in leading congregations of various ages to full participation. The position includes being present at all campus liturgies, rehearsing all choirs (Parish Adult, Youth and Children's choirs, Middle School and High School choirs), training cantors, programing all music selections for parish and school liturgies (Holy Days, Feast Days, Sacrament Celebrations) and directing annual musical theater high school and middle school productions. The candidate should be skilled in working with a team of people that include liturgy committees at the parish and the Fine Arts Department at the schools. Additional compensation provided for weddings and funerals. Compensation is commensurate with experience and education.
